Commercial Manager – Infrastructure Contracts & Supplier Strategy

About the role

Transpower is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the commercial strategy for major infrastructure programmes that support New Zealand’s National Grid. The role focuses on shaping strategy across a $500 million+ spend, driving value, and managing risk through effective negotiation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategy for infrastructure contracts worth over $500 million.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and supplier relationship management.
• Identify and capture value opportunities while mitigating risk across the supply chain.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with overall business objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial strategy, strategic sourcing, and contract management within large‑scale infrastructure or utility environments.
• Strong understanding of supplier strategy and risk management.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross‑functional initiatives.
