Civil Designer (Civil 3D & 12D)

About the role

Robert Bird Group (RBG) is seeking an experienced Civil Designer proficient in Civil 3D and 12D to join its Auckland or Wellington office. You will contribute to the design, modelling and production of drawings for major land development and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil designs, models and construction drawings using Civil 3D and 12D.
• Deliver high‑quality outputs within time and cost budgets while meeting client expectations.
• Work independently on varied design tasks, including roadways, earthworks, stormwater and site grading.
• Coordinate utility networks and drainage systems across projects.
• Mentor and manage project team members as required.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in civil design and project team leadership.
• Diploma or certificate in Civil Design or Computer‑Aided Drafting.
• Proven experience with road design to Austroads standards, earthworks analysis, and stormwater management.
• Strong understanding of civil infrastructure and CAD technologies.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
