Senior Transmission Line Engineer - Structural

About the role

Join Aurecon's Transmission Line Engineering team to design and analyse transmission towers, poles and overhead line structures across New Zealand. You will work on projects that strengthen communities and support a sustainable future.

Key responsibilities

• Personally design and analyse transmission towers, poles and associated overhead line structures.
• Apply PLS‑TOWER and PLS‑POLE to develop high‑quality structural design solutions.
• Produce structural calculations, drawings and technical design reports.
• Contribute to technical reviews and ensure accurate, sound design deliverables.
• Help shape practical structural design standards and repeatable ways of working.
• Collaborate with electrical, civil and multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple locations.

Required profile

• A relevant structural engineering qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in transmission structure design.
• Hands‑on professional experience using PLS‑TOWER and PLS‑POLE.
• Evidence of completing structural designs, calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Strong technical capability developed through industry experience.
• Ability to contribute as a practising designer rather than solely in a management role.
