About the role
The Chief Financial Officer will join the executive team and report directly to the CEO of a large, well‑known New Zealand business. This senior position offers the chance to shape financial strategy, influence board decisions and work closely with key decision‑makers across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the CEO, shareholders and executive team.
- Attend board meetings and deliver comprehensive financial oversight.
- Lead a large, multidisciplinary finance team, ensuring succession planning and professional development.
- Maintain robust governance and risk‑management frameworks, overseeing annual audit, reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Partner with core business functions to improve operational effectiveness.
- Manage third‑party relationships and evaluate capital‑expenditure, investment opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Undertake ad‑hoc duties as required by senior leadership.
Required profile
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven commercial, strategic and technical capability with demonstrable examples.
- Extensive experience leading large finance teams.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and influence.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to adapt quickly to business pivots.
- Strong negotiation skills and a dynamic, energetic presence.
