Casual Support Worker - Holiday Season

About the role

HealthCare NZ provides in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support, helping people live as independently as possible. It is recruiting casual support workers from Riverton, Winton, Waikiwi, Glengarry, Strathern, Appleby and Georgetown to support clients with their daily living and personal goals during the holiday period. The work is based in the Invercargill branch area.

Key responsibilities

• Follow a client's care plan and help them live as independently as possible in their home and community
• Assist clients with meal preparation
• Organise community outings and integration
• Give medication
• Provide personal care such as showering and toileting
• Help with home management

Required profile

• Availability from December to February is a must
• A desire to help and support others
• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience is advantageous
• Full New Zealand driver's licence and own reliable transport are required for most positions
• Right to work in New Zealand and willingness to undergo police vetting and additional checks

Required skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Healthcare qualifications are advantageous
