Casual Registered Nurse – Aged Care

About the role

As a casual Registered Nurse at Oceania in Heretaunga, you will work within a nurse‑led service delivering full‑scope care to aged‑care residents. You will coordinate daily care, perform comprehensive assessments and build strong relationships with residents, families and allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily care needs of residents while inspiring and supporting the care team.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and interventions independently and collaboratively.
• Make critical decisions regarding resident care, demonstrating professional autonomy.
• Develop and maintain connections with residents, families and community health providers.
• Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to care staff and team members.

Required profile

• Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
• Commitment to delivering excellent service in an aged‑care setting.
• Experience using clinical systems; InterRai experience is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time‑management and ability to coach and mentor staff.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and nights.

Required skills

• InterRai clinical documentation system.
