Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy (NZ)

About the role

This is a highly autonomous, individual‑contributor position reporting directly to senior leadership. You will drive new project opportunities and build strategic relationships with large energy users across New Zealand, focusing on renewable energy and energy‑storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business‑development strategies throughout New Zealand.
• Identify, originate and nurture solar PV, BESS, microgrid and broader energy‑infrastructure opportunities.
• Build relationships with decision‑makers in commercial, industrial and energy‑intensive sectors.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution.
• Educate clients on long‑term energy solutions, including behind‑the‑meter PPAs and storage strategies.

Required profile

• Proven business‑development or sales experience in renewable energy, utilities, energy storage or infrastructure.
• Strong network across New Zealand’s commercial, industrial and energy sectors.
• Experience selling or developing solar PV, BESS, microgrid or utility‑scale projects.
• Ability to engage senior stakeholders and navigate complex commercial discussions.
• Self‑motivated, autonomous and excellent at stakeholder management.
