About the role

Thryv is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join its field sales team in Hamilton, New Zealand. You will be the face of Thryv’s award‑winning SaaS platform, meeting small‑business owners directly to demonstrate how the solution can save time, improve communication, and accelerate payments.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect daily through cold calling, door‑knocking, and networking to generate new business opportunities.
• Meet business owners face‑to‑face, present tailored SaaS solutions, and manage the full sales cycle from initial contact to close and onboarding handover.
• Achieve and exceed monthly new‑business sales targets.
• Own and strategically plan a defined territory, maintaining disciplined daily schedules.
• Keep accurate pipeline records and report progress to the Account Director.
• Stay informed on product updates, competitive landscape, and SMB market trends.

Required profile

• Proven hunter mentality with a strong track record in B2B sales, preferably in SaaS or technology fields.
• Resilient and self‑motivated, able to bounce back from setbacks and work autonomously.
• Confident cold caller and door‑knocker who can open doors and build relationships.
• Consultative selling style – listen first, then match solutions to needs.
• Highly organised with disciplined territory and pipeline management.
