About the role

The Business Banking Adviser Lending Specialist supports customers in achieving their home‑ownership goals. Working within ANZ’s Adviser Assessment team – a centre of excellence for home lending – you will assess mortgage applications, particularly for self‑employed borrowers, and contribute to ANZ’s ambition to be #1 in growth and service.

Key responsibilities

• Assess home‑lending applications received from Mortgage Advisers, focusing on self‑employed income.
• Provide a relationship‑based service experience for customers and Mortgage Advisers.
• Deliver competitive product and pricing strategies to retain existing customers and attract new business.
• Meet home‑loan settlement targets through strong relationship building and sound risk assessment.
• Manage your own workflow and support the team to achieve individual and collective goals.
• Continuously seek process improvements, operational efficiencies and superior customer outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience in home lending and solid knowledge of New Zealand credit controls and the lending environment.
• Understanding of assessing self‑employed income and associated risk factors.
• Strong relationship‑building and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage priorities, work independently and collaborate with a team.
• Growth mindset with a focus on continuous learning and improvement.
