Automotive Technician - Palmerston North

About the role

Keith Andrews Trucks, the number one Fuso dealership in New Zealand, is looking for a skilled auto technician for its busy Palmerston North workshop. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining light commercial vehicles such as vans, utes and small trucks, with 45 hours per week and time-and-a-half overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain light commercial vehicles (van, ute, small truck)
• Perform routine servicing to manufacturer standards
• Liaise with the service team and customers for approvals and updates
• Document all work accurately
• Keep up to date with the latest vehicle technology and repair methods
• Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and workshop compliance

Required profile

• 3+ years' experience in automotive or a relevant trade qualification
• Class 2 licence ideally (Class 5 support available)
• NZ citizenship, residency or a valid work visa
• Ability to work under pressure and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction

Required skills

• Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and mechanical skills
• Knowledge of Fuso and Mercedes-Benz vehicles
