Associate Director - Tax & Business Advisory

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an experienced tax and accounting professional to join its Tax & Business Advisory team in Tauranga. As an Associate Director you will lead a diverse client portfolio, providing strategic tax advice and supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of clients covering a broad range of tax and accounting issues.
• Provide expert tax and accounting advice, including transaction work, business operations, strategy, and domestic/international tax matters.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering team development and knowledge sharing.
• Utilise modern tools to enhance client service efficiency and risk management.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships, exceeding client expectations.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in a professional services tax or accounting environment.
• Professional qualification in law or accounting.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end tax processes and the New Zealand tax environment.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Energetic, proactive attitude with a results‑focused, client‑oriented mindset.
