Area Sales Manager – Orthopaedic Devices (NZ)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading medical devices organisation to recruit an Area Sales Manager who will drive growth across New Zealand in orthopaedic hip and knee reconstruction solutions. The role blends clinical acumen with a proven commercial track record in theatre‑based environments.

Key responsibilities

• Execute strategic sales initiatives to exceed revenue and market‑share targets.
• Accelerate market expansion through product adoption strategies, competitive analysis, and targeted clinical education.
• Act as a trusted advisor to healthcare institutions, providing procedural support and bespoke solutions.
• Manage territory performance via disciplined CRM management, accurate forecasting, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Identify new business opportunities, convert competitive accounts, and grow share within key hospitals.

Required profile

• Experience in orthopaedic medical devices with strong knowledge of hip and knee reconstruction.
• Proven track record leading high‑performing sales or clinical teams.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship‑building skills across clinical, operational, and executive levels.
• Comfortable building the market from the ground up, opening new accounts and driving early adoption.
