About the role
This position is a leadership role within Vitaco’s Quality Control function, responsible for overseeing the afternoon shift analytical team. You will drive analytical excellence, ensure timely release of materials and finished products, and maintain compliance in a fast‑paced, regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach and inspire a team of Laboratory Analysts to consistently meet production and release timelines.
- Drive laboratory excellence by ensuring high‑quality analytical testing and robust data integrity.
- Oversee analytical testing and material release with a focus on efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Champion GMP, GLP, NZ GMP and PIC/S compliance, maintaining audit readiness.
- Lead out‑of‑specification investigations, method development, validation and troubleshooting to achieve right‑first‑time outcomes.
- Partner with QC, QA, NPD and Operations to align priorities and remove delivery barriers.
- Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost capability, throughput and team performance.
Required profile
- BSc in Chemistry or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in a GMP‑regulated laboratory environment.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high‑performing teams.
- Continuous‑improvement mindset with strong attention to detail.
Required skills
- Hands‑on expertise in HPLC.
- Dissolution testing.
- Method development and validation.
- Troubleshooting analytical methods.
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, NZ GMP and PIC/S compliance.
