Admiral Nurse – Specialist Dementia Support (Kent)

About the role

The Admiral Nurse provides specialist dementia care and support to families and carers across Kent. Working in partnership with Dementia UK, you will help people navigate the emotional, practical and psychological challenges of dementia from pre‑diagnosis through advanced stages.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist dementia assessments and support, including home visits.
• Develop personalised, evidence‑based intervention plans for carers and people living with dementia.
• Promote relationship‑centred care and support carers’ wellbeing.
• Collaborate with health and social care professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic support.
• Contribute to service development and best‑practice improvement.
• Provide dementia‑focused training and education to colleagues, carers and partner organisations.

Required profile

• Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification.
• Full clean UK driving licence.
• Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience supporting people affected by dementia.
• Experience in community or outreach settings.
• Strong understanding of person‑centred and relationship‑centred dementia care.

• Ability to support carers through complex emotional and practical challenges.

What we offer

• Salary £45,070 – £54,031 per annum (including car allowance).
• 28 days paid holiday plus bank holidays, with optional purchase of up to 5 days.
