About the role
The Faculty of Medicine in Dunedin is seeking an organised and proactive Administrator to support the Dean and Head of Region. Working in the Office of the Dean, you will ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations and provide high‑level generalist administration across a range of academic and research activities.
Key responsibilities
- Manage calendars, inboxes and travel arrangements for senior leaders.
- Coordinate meetings, committees and support processes such as expressions of interest, academic promotions, research and study leave.
- Track approvals, maintain accurate records and contribute to transactional finance tasks.
- Assist with Faculty‑wide initiatives and provide administrative support for various projects.
Required profile
- Confident, proactive administrator with a strong service orientation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate, quality work consistently.
- Skilled at balancing competing priorities and building trusted relationships.
- Flexible, self‑directed and highly organised, able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Commitment to culturally safe practices and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
Required skills
- High‑level diary and correspondence management.
- Meeting administration and coordination.
- Basic finance transaction handling.
