Accounts Officer - Fixed Term

About the role

We are seeking a self‑motivated Accounts Officer on a fixed‑term basis to support our Business Support Team in Palmerston North while new systems are introduced. The role starts as soon as possible and runs until 29 January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Set up new customer accounts, including credit and referee checks.
• Process accounts payable invoices, perform data entry and coding.
• Maintain electronic filing of supplier invoices.
• Ensure all month‑end invoicing is completed.
• Respond to creditor queries.
• Reconcile creditor statements.
• Organise electronic payments on the 20th of each month.
• Provide support and cover for other Business Support team members.

Required profile

• Accurate data entry with the ability to handle a high volume of transactions.
• Well‑developed written and spoken communication skills.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational abilities.
• Ability to stay calm, collaborative, and focused during busy periods.
• Relevant experience in accounts receivable/payable.
