Youth Services Coach

About the role

Two Rivers, a kaupapa Māori tertiary education provider, is hiring a Youth Services Coach in Hamilton (candidates based in the Te Awamutu campus are welcome). This is a permanent full-time position of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel between Hamilton, Cambridge and Te Awamutu using the organisation's fleet cars. The salary is $54,509 to $68,136.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate the enrolment process into Youth Service for eligible young people.
• Complete a needs assessment and produce a plan with each young person covering realistic educational, training and employment goals.
• Assist young people in applying for Youth Payment (YP) and Young Parent Payment (YPP).
• Work collaboratively with providers to deliver a young-person-centred service.
• Design and plan topics, content and resources for workshops relevant to young people's goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology or similar.
• Certificate in Youth Work Level 4.
• At least 4 years' experience in social services, education or similar.
• At least 4 years' experience working with Māori or Pasifika.
• At least 4 years' experience providing case management or mentoring young people.
• Full New Zealand driver's licence.
• Willingness to take part in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Māori values, culture and tikanga is desirable.
