Warehouse & Stores Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Warehouse & Stores Assistant to join a technology‑led manufacturing business in Wellington. You will support the smooth flow of materials, from receiving deliveries to preparing goods for dispatch, ensuring the shop floor has the parts it needs.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, check and document deliveries, notifying the purchasing department.
• Load and unload pallets using pallet trucks and, where required, forklift equipment.
• Maintain accurate stock levels of consumables, packing materials and components.
• Kitting of assemblies and parts for the shop floor according to planning requirements.
• Issue parts to workstations, pick and pack orders securely for despatch.
• Operate lifting equipment safely and keep system data up‑to‑date.
• Adhere to all company policies, health & safety procedures and quality standards.

Required profile

• Experience working in a warehouse or stores environment.
• Good organisational skills and ability to multitask.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a fast‑growing company.
• Positive attitude and strong stakeholder communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driving licence (essential).
• Forklift licence (desirable).
• Familiarity with stock control systems and tools.
