Training Advisor – Aviation Security

About the role

The Advisor, Training will join the Learning and Capability team of New Zealand's Civil Aviation Authority. You will design, deliver and manage technical training programmes that build aviation security capability for frontline operational staff.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate workshops and training courses using varied instructional strategies to ensure learning transfer.
• Deliver basic and refresher training that meets Aviation Security Officer accreditation standards.
• Support the Pacific Island training programme under the AvSec Pacific Project.
• Collaborate with People and Capability to recruit and train skilled Aviation Security Officers.
• Conduct training needs assessments and develop targeted interventions.
• Travel to Auckland, Christchurch and other airport locations to deliver essential training.

Required profile

• Experience developing and delivering specialist training courses that meet regulatory standards.
• Advanced presentation abilities and strong communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and a commitment to equal opportunity.
• Strong collaboration skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching Level 4 or equivalent.
• Demonstrated aviation knowledge and skills.
• Full New Zealand driver’s licence.
