Tradesperson - Engineering (Fabricator/Fitter)

About the role

A well-established engineering company based in Nelson is looking to add an experienced Tradesperson to its team through Stellar Recruitment. The ideal candidate is a trade-qualified Heavy Fabricator or Fitter/Turner with strong practical skills and a solid work ethic. The role sits in a supportive workshop team with consistent hours and a competitive pay rate.

Key responsibilities

• General engineering and fabrication work
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Assembly, fitting and fabrication of components
• Workshop-based work with occasional on-site tasks
• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Heavy Fabrication, Fitting & Turning, or similar
• Heavy transport engineering background is an advantage
• Experience in a general engineering or fabrication workshop
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
