Tax Manager Specialist

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Tax Manager Specialist to join its New Zealand tax team. The role supports accurate and efficient delivery of tax compliance and accounting obligations for ANZ in New Zealand, as well as its Pacific Island and Papua New Guinea operations. You will work on large projects, interact with Inland Revenue and collaborate across business units.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting across New Zealand, covering a range of taxes and regulatory obligations.
• Support tax compliance and reporting activities for ANZ’s Pacific markets, including Papua New Guinea.
• Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate tax and accounting processes.
• Ensure tax activities align with ANZ’s risk management framework, governance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Build trusted partnerships with Inland Revenue, internal stakeholders and global teams to achieve effective tax outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in tax compliance, reporting and tax accounting within New Zealand.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand tax legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to deliver accurate outputs in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
