Tax Manager / Associate Director

About the role

Deloitte New Zealand is seeking an experienced tax professional to join its Tauranga team as a Tax Manager or Associate Director. You will lead a portfolio of SME and corporate clients, provide strategic tax advice, and help shape the direction of the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of business tax matters, from compliance to planning.
• Prepare and review income tax provisions for financial statement reporting.
• Assist clients in resolving tax disputes and applying current and pending legislation.
• Deliver exceptional client service while driving high performance and collaboration.
• Act as a role model, recognize team impact, and develop high‑performing people.
• Influence clients and internal teams, building confident relationships.
• Improve work efficiency and client service through common technology tools.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in tax compliance and advisory.
• Professional accounting qualification.
• Strong understanding of end‑to‑end NZ tax processes and legislation.
• Proven leadership, management, and business development abilities.
• Results‑driven, client‑oriented, and a passion for developing people.
