Support Lead - Parcel Processing

About the role

New Zealand Post is hiring a Support Lead for its Christchurch operational leadership team. The role is similar to a Charge Hand and supports the high-performing processing team responsible for parcel sorting at the Syd Bradley Road Processing Centre. It reports to (and acts as deputy to) the Floor Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Engage and support the team by communicating and setting objectives
• Ensure parcels and mail products are processed in a timely and efficient way, meeting high service standards through effective management of parcel flow and continuous improvement
• Manage the accurate and timely capture of data so all systems stay up to date
• Manage resources within the operational needs and budget of the Processing area
• Lead the team in line with NZ Post's values and vision, taking a hands-on approach to safety and team culture

Required profile

• Available to work Monday to Friday, 5pm to 1:30am
• Confident computer skills
• Solid understanding of logistics management
• Understanding of the national transport network and knowledge of long-haul transport networks
