Spray Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Spray Operator to join our Parks & Reserves team in Rolleston. You will work outdoors, applying herbicides and other treatments to manage vegetation, control noxious weeds, and support native planting across Selwyn’s parks and reserves.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently operate spraying equipment for vegetation control.
• Manage and treat noxious weeds in park and reserve areas.
• Assist with native planting and ongoing maintenance of green spaces.
• Maintain equipment, follow health and safety protocols, and keep detailed records of work performed.

Required profile

• Full Class 1 driver licence (essential).
• Reliable, self‑motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Understanding of current health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
• NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Required skills

• Sprayer operation.
• Manual vehicle driving.
