Service Technician (Mechanic) - Full-Time

About the role

Avis Budget Group is looking for a qualified Mechanic to join its team in Queenstown, working full-time (40 hours per week) on a roster basis. The role covers repairs and maintenance of the company's fleet of cars, trucks and other vehicles, keeping company standards and compliance with laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing vehicles to manufacturer and company specifications, including minor repairs and preventative maintenance such as fluid changes, oil and air filter changes, tyres, brakes and ski racks
• Monitor inventory and request new parts from the Service Administrator
• Assemble mechanical components and perform diagnostic tests to identify faults
• Complete repair orders, provide breakdown assistance and prepare vehicles for hand-back and sale
• Test workshop equipment for safety and keep accurate job records and servicing history
• Follow occupational health and safety policies, report accidents and hazards, and attend company or manufacturer training
• Drive vehicles as required and carry out other reasonable duties asked by the Service Manager

Required profile

• Full driver's licence, including manual vehicles
• Motor mechanics trade qualification (Level 4 minimum) with previous motor mechanic experience; car rental experience is an advantage
• Experience with petrol and diesel engines
• Customer-focused, collaborative and adaptable, able to handle several tasks across sites with good attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication

Required skills

• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation relevant to the role
