Senior Workforce Management Strategy and Optimisation Specialist

About the role

Kia ora! Air New Zealand is seeking a senior specialist to lead workforce management strategy and optimisation across its airline operations. You will drive cross‑functional projects that improve crew utilisation, resource planning and overall operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cross‑functional squads to identify and implement productivity improvement opportunities.
• Conduct cost‑benefit analyses and develop business cases for workforce initiatives.
• Provide expert advice on best practices, regulatory requirements and emerging trends in airline workforce management.
• Develop and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to influence decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in workforce management within the airline industry.
• Deep knowledge of rostering, resource planning and training optimisation for pilots, cabin crew or ground operations.
• Strong analytical acumen with a track record of delivering transformational change.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage risk.
