Senior WordPress Web Developer (Christchurch)

About the role

Meta Digital is seeking an experienced WordPress Web Developer to join our small, high‑performing digital team in Christchurch. You will own end‑to‑end project delivery, from brief through launch, while collaborating closely with clients and internal designers.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress sites, including block themes and Full Site Editing.
• Integrate complex plugins such as WooCommerce, WPML, and membership solutions.
• Use WP‑CLI to automate workflows, migrations, and deployments.
• Incorporate AI tooling (Claude) into development and content processes.
• Communicate clearly with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Strong portfolio showcasing real client work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client‑facing interactions.
• Self‑motivated with a high standard for code quality and documentation.
