Senior Microsoft Cybersecurity Consultant

About the role

Datacom, New Zealand’s largest cybersecurity services company, is seeking a Senior Microsoft Cybersecurity Consultant to join its dedicated team. You will use your deep Microsoft security expertise to design, implement and advise on advanced security solutions for enterprise customers across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft cybersecurity, focusing on cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end security architectures using Microsoft technologies.
• Lead the development, deployment and configuration of Microsoft security solutions.
• Collaborate with customers, presales teams and Microsoft architects to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Deliver hands‑on workshops and training for customers, partners and internal teams.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to Microsoft product teams based on real‑world implementations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Microsoft security solutions such as Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID and Purview.
• Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise‑scale security architectures.
• Hands‑on experience implementing security controls, automating processes and conducting threat analysis.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex security concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Security certifications).
