Senior Manager – Assurance (Audit) – Wellington

About the role

PwC is seeking an experienced auditor to join its Assurance team in Wellington as a Senior Manager. You will lead external audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients, helping to build public trust and deliver high‑quality financial statements.

Key responsibilities

• Take senior ownership of statutory audit engagements from planning through final review, ensuring delivery quality, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Lead high‑quality audits that enhance financial integrity and transparency for clients.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing practical, value‑adding insights.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Utilise advanced technology and PwC audit methodology to set new benchmarks for quality and innovation.

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience in external audit, preferably across both public and private sectors.
• Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and build strong client relationships.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to PwC’s values of care, integrity and teamwork.
