Senior Lab Technician - Microbiology & Quality

About the role

Kraft Heinz is hiring a Senior Laboratory Technician for its Quality team in Hastings, New Zealand. The role covers the day-to-day running of the lab and acts for the Laboratory Manager in their absence, in a collaborative and dynamic environment. It is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Run the lab day to day and cover for the Laboratory Manager in their absence
• Maintain quality standards (ISO 17025, RLP criteria) while handling complex and urgent laboratory matters
• Support training and supervision of Lab Technicians
• Check equipment calibrations, source alternative equipment and ensure high-quality laboratory results
• Ensure laboratory equipment, reagents and media used daily are calibrated and verified as required by the HW Laboratory manual

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry or similar
• Strong, proven laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights
• People leadership exposure is desired but not mandatory

Required skills

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• LIMS database exposure is strongly desired
