Senior Development Manager - Renewable Energy

About the role

Morson Edge is looking for an experienced Senior Development Manager to lead the next phase of a large-scale, 300MW+ wind farm in New Zealand through to Final Investment Decision (FID). Project consent is already secured, so the focus is on progressing the remaining development activities, coordinating technical and commercial workstreams, managing key stakeholders and making the project investment-ready. Auckland is the preferred location, though flexibility is available for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the ongoing development of the 300MW+ wind farm through to FID and keep the project on track against key milestones.
• Coordinate technical, environmental, land, grid connection and commercial workstreams.
• Manage external consultants, engineering partners and other project stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships with landowners, local communities, councils, regulators and network providers.
• Oversee development budgets, schedules, risks and project delivery strategies.
• Identify and resolve project risks to ensure a smooth transition to financial close and delivery.

Required profile

• Experience developing utility-scale projects (wind, solar PV, BESS, hydro or other renewables).
• Strong understanding of New Zealand's planning, consenting and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
