Senior Communications Advisor

About the role
The Treasury is seeking a Senior Communications Advisor on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to lead internal and external communications that support its strategic priorities, including the Budget and PREFU initiatives. You will join a collaborative team focused on shaping a better future for all New Zealanders.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and lead communication strategies aligned with Treasury priorities.
- Produce high‑quality content such as speeches, presentations, media releases and social media posts.
- Support Budget communications and related stakeholder engagement.
- Coordinate internal and external engagement activities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Required profile
- Proven experience delivering internal and external communications.
- Ability to create engaging content across multiple channels.
- Strong understanding of government communication contexts.
