Senior Audit Associate – Assurance (Wellington)

About the role

PwC New Zealand is seeking an experienced auditor to join its Assurance team in Wellington as a Senior Associate. This permanent, full‑time position offers direct client engagement, mentorship opportunities, and the chance to deepen technical expertise within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior staff on statutory audit engagements from planning through final review.
• Deliver high‑quality audits of financial statements, enhancing client transparency and trust.
• Work directly with clients to assess business needs, test internal controls, and verify financial information.
• Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior staff and graduates.
• Utilise leading‑edge audit technology and PwC methodology to set quality benchmarks.

Required profile

• Minimum 2.5 years of external audit experience in a complex, regulated environment.
• Professional accounting qualification (CAANZ, CPA, ACCA, ICAEW) or actively pursuing one.
• Proven ability to contribute to end‑to‑end audit engagements and mentor junior team members.
