Secondary Science Teacher

About the role

ACG Parnell, a school within Inspired Education, is looking for a full-time, permanent Secondary Science Teacher to join its team in Auckland. The successful candidate will teach science across the secondary years, including senior levels up to Year 13, starting Term 1, 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the school's curriculum, policies and external assessment requirements
• Assess students' in-class and at-home learning regularly and give targeted feedback
• Create a positive classroom environment where students feel valued and ready to take risks
• Collaborate with colleagues, share best practice and contribute to the school's co-curricular programme and whole-school initiatives
• Maintain open communication with parents and build strong partnerships

Required profile

• A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent
• Accreditation with the New Zealand Education Council
• Student-centred, caring, reflective and adaptable, with clear communication with students, parents and colleagues
• Willingness to provide lunch and playground cover, and to attend school events outside regular hours
• Prepared to undergo a New Zealand police check before starting
