Risk Advisory Consultant – Wellington

About the role

Deloitte’s Risk and Regulatory team in Wellington is seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to help New Zealand’s largest organisations manage risk and regulatory obligations. You will work on transformative programmes that build confidence for stakeholders and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with clients to understand their risk challenges and provide thought‑leadership and best‑practice advice.
• Design, implement or improve enterprise risk‑management solutions, processes and frameworks.
• Apply a risk lens to improve performance and operating efficiency across client industries.
• Lead or support change programmes related to governance, risk operating models and business‑process improvement.
• Develop deep client relationships, identify new opportunities and support market proposals.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years experience in risk consulting or risk advisory.
• Strong stakeholder‑engagement and communication skills, able to convey complex ideas concisely.
• Passion for governance, risk and controls frameworks and a desire to make a positive impact.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) solutions.
• Familiarity with modern risk‑management approaches, including the use of AI where appropriate.
