Regulatory Assurance Compliance Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Regulatory Assurance Compliance Manager to lead the design and execution of our compliance testing and assurance programme in New Zealand. You will work with the Compliance team to ensure our products meet regulatory requirements while delivering value to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing a compliance testing and assurance programme tailored to the NZ regulatory landscape.
• Conduct assurance reviews and testing activities covering consumer fairness, privacy, credit, and communications, leveraging advanced data analytics.
• Identify opportunities to improve adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Execute project plans to address remediation efforts and testing findings, including process updates, documentation, and training.
• Drive multiple concurrent reviews—local or multi‑jurisdictional—and produce management reports on outcomes.
• Challenge colleagues to build efficient, world‑class risk management controls and processes.
• Use data analytics to generate actionable insights that enhance the control environment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in fintech, a traditional financial institution, or a regulatory body.
• 2+ years of experience in assurance or internal/external audit focusing on risk and compliance.
• Proven ability to interrogate large data sets to extract actionable insights.
• Results‑driven, pragmatic, and detail‑oriented.
• Strong problem‑solving and collaboration skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply.
• Experience managing and implementing policies and procedures.
