About the role
The Electoral Commission New Zealand is seeking a Recruitment and Rostering Manager for its Epsom office. The role will lead recruitment and roster planning for a 400‑person team that supports the upcoming General Election, ensuring the workforce reflects the diversity of local communities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end recruitment processes to attract a diverse, culturally responsive workforce.
- Design and maintain roster schedules that meet operational demands of the election period.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to forecast staffing needs and align resources.
- Promote inclusive hiring practices and support public participation initiatives.
- Manage a team of recruiters and roster coordinators, providing guidance and performance oversight.
- Monitor recruitment metrics and report on progress to senior management.
Required profile
- Proven experience in recruitment and workforce planning, preferably in a public‑sector or large‑scale project environment.
- Strong understanding of diversity and inclusion principles.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Ability to work under tight election timelines and deliver results.

- Competitive salary range of $85,000‑$95,000 per year.
