Receptionist – Front Office (Part‑time)

About the role

As the first point of contact for guests at Novotel Wellington, you will create memorable first impressions and ensure smooth arrivals and departures. This part‑time position works across a rotating 7‑day roster, covering mornings, afternoons, weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests from around the world, building relationships with new and returning visitors.
• Manage accurate check‑in and check‑out procedures, guest information, and payments.
• Provide local knowledge, promote hotel facilities and up‑sell to maximise occupancy and revenue.
• Safely handle guest property with correct documentation and storage.
• Promote Accor loyalty programmes to enhance satisfaction and brand loyalty.
• Collaborate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Reservations and other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Required profile

• Exceptional written, verbal and non‑verbal communication skills.
• Organised with high attention to detail and the ability to take initiative.
• Flexible to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• NZ residency or a permanent NZ work visa (no sponsorship available).
• Previous hotel receptionist experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Opera cloud PMS or similar property management systems.
• Experience using TARS Database or comparable reservation software.
