About the role
Skills Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Advisor to help deliver high‑quality education across its programmes. This permanent, full‑time position offers the flexibility to work predominantly remotely while collaborating with national teams. You will play a key role in ensuring programme quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Support quality assurance processes to ensure consistency and compliance across programmes.
- Review programme delivery, assessment practices, and documentation against standards.
- Analyse performance data and identify opportunities to improve learner outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to moderation activities, organisational self‑review reporting, and NZQA monitoring requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of the annual TEO Self‑Review Summary Report to NZQA under the integrated Quality Assurance Framework (iQAF).
- Assist staff in embedding QA processes and implementing systems for continuous improvement, including TEO self‑review.
- Contribute to programme and micro‑credential development, supporting NZQA approval and accreditation processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual overhead in QA workflows through AI‑assisted automation.
- Stay current with AI tools relevant to quality assurance in education and share learnings with the PIQ team.
Required profile
- Degree in Adult Education or equivalent experience, with unit standards 4098, 11551 and 11552 (or willingness to obtain with support).
- Experience in educational quality assurance, moderation, and assessment within NZQA frameworks, including familiarity with iQAF.
- Curiosity and initiative around emerging technologies, especially AI‑assisted automation.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience working with education or workplace training systems and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical capability, including experience using Excel or similar tools.
- Understanding of programme and micro‑credential development within the NZQA approval and accreditation framework.
