Project Manager – Transmission Overhead Lines

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Transmission team, delivering overhead line projects on Transpower assets and other network infrastructure. The role is based in Hamilton (or Rotorua) and involves taking ownership from project award through to safe, on‑time, and on‑budget completion.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and close out transmission overhead line projects, preparing estimates, work packs and documentation.
• Coordinate resources, materials, contractors and outage requirements, working closely with customers, designers, schedulers and field crews.
• Monitor project budgets, invoicing, work‑in‑progress and overall financial performance.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks, resolve issues and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and ensure customer expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Practical project management experience, preferably in electricity transmission, distribution or civil infrastructure.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities.
• Confident communication with customers, contractors and internal teams.
• Understanding of project financials and commercial performance.
• Experience with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Class 1 driver’s licence.
