Project Manager – Road Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Waikato team and lead road construction projects across the region. You will own the delivery from planning through to hand‑over, working closely with operational teams to ensure safety, quality and timely completion.

Key responsibilities

• Manage road construction projects through all stages, from planning and programming to final handover.
• Coordinate multiple construction operations to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to high standards.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, programme performance and commercial outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Lead and support project teams, providing direction, coaching and clear expectations.
• Promote a strong health, safety, quality and environmental culture.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Proven experience managing road construction or civil infrastructure projects through the full lifecycle.
• Ability to manage multiple operations while delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget.
• Strong commercial capability, including pricing and managing projects valued at $10M+.
• Leadership skills to build capable, engaged and high‑performing teams.
• Practical approach to health and safety with belief that every incident can be prevented.
