Project Manager – Transmission Overhead Line Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead transmission overhead line projects for Northpower’s network assets. Based in Hamilton or Rotorua, you will own the full project lifecycle from award through to safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery, working closely with customers, crews and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute overhead line projects, including outage coordination and contractor management.
• Prepare accurate estimates, work packs and project documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, invoicing, work‑in‑progress and financial performance.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues and ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Coordinate resources, materials and field crews, and maintain clear communication with designers, schedulers and customers.
• Close out projects with complete documentation, lessons learned and handover to customers.

Required profile

• Proven project management experience in electricity transmission, distribution or civil infrastructure.
• Strong planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Confident communicator with customers, contractors and internal teams.
• Understanding of project financials and commercial performance.
• Commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
• Valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
