Project Development Manager – Renewable Energy (Auckland)

About the role

We are looking for a Project Development Manager to support Aquila’s renewable energy development activities across solar, wind and storage projects in New Zealand. The role will ensure projects are developed efficiently and transition smoothly into construction.

Key responsibilities

• Support overall advancement of renewable energy projects, including site assessments, planning, resource consent management and environmental studies.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Investment, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Community, ESG, Legal, Procurement and Communications.
• Work closely with development partners and external consultants to facilitate project development activities.
• Engage with landowners, iwi, councils, community members and other stakeholders.
• Identify and evaluate project opportunities, assisting with commercial and technical feasibility.
• Maintain internal project management systems, documentation, reporting and contract management processes.

Required profile

• Right to work in New Zealand.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Planning, Commerce, Business Management or Science (preferred).
• 3+ years experience in project development or management, preferably in energy or infrastructure.
• Prior experience in renewable energy (solar, wind, storage) is preferred.
• Understanding of New Zealand regulations and resource consent processes.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel within New Zealand and Australia.
