Production Support Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Production Support Engineer to join a well‑established New Zealand manufacturer of agricultural equipment. The role starts on a temporary contract with the potential to become a long‑term position, focusing on bringing structure, consistency, and clarity to existing production processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing product lines and raise them to a consistent, well‑documented, production‑ready standard.
• Support production teams with technical and process‑related issues.
• Improve engineering drawings, workflows, and manufacturing methods.
• Develop, embed, and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Identify inefficiencies, waste, and failure points and drive continuous improvement.
• Analyse production data to inform process enhancements.
• Work closely with production staff to ensure practical adoption of solutions.

Required profile

• Current experience in a Production or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Materials & Process).
• Strong capability to assess and improve existing manufacturing processes.
• Hands‑on, practical problem‑solving approach.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools.
• Experience creating and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
• Ability to analyse production data for improvement opportunities.
