Production Manager – Night Shift Bakery

About the role

Quality Bakers Auckland, part of Goodman Fielder, is New Zealand's largest plant bakery, producing brands such as Vogel's, Freya's, Molenberg and Nature's Fresh across five 24/7 plants. An experienced Production Manager is sought to lead site production operations across the night shift, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. The role focuses on safe, reliable and efficient production while building a high-performance culture.

Key responsibilities

• Health, Safety & Environment: champion a 'Never Walk By' safety culture, ensure compliance and drive zero harm.
• Quality & Food Safety: lead quality assurance, ensure GMP and food safety compliance and drive quality improvement.
• Operational Excellence: deliver targeted efficiency levels including productivity, line utilisation and downtime, waste reduction, OEE, quality, safety and DIFOT.
• People Leadership: develop leaders and teams, drive engagement, succession planning and wellbeing.
• Continuous Improvement: embed a continuous improvement mindset and initiatives supporting productivity, innovation and cost management.

Required profile

• Manufacturing leadership experience with demonstrated results in DIFOT, HSE, cost management, waste reduction, food safety and quality compliance and staff engagement.
• Broad background in food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Degree in a science or engineering-related discipline; Level 4 qualification in Plant Baking highly beneficial.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
