Practice Nurse

About the role

The University of Auckland is seeking a Practice Nurse to join its general practice nursing team, working across the Grafton and City campuses. The clinics support university students and are not open to the general public. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent basis, with rostered hours Monday 08:00-18:00, Tuesday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 and Friday 08:00-14:20.

Required profile

• Registered nurse in New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate
• Experience in a multidisciplinary health setting, ideally general practice, with proven clinical experience with young adults and diverse communities
• Interest in sexual health, mental health and a supportive wellness approach
• High level of cultural competence

Required skills

• Current Independent Vaccinator Authorisation Certificate, or willingness to complete the training to obtain it
• Current validated CPR and/or Advanced Life Support certification
• Ability to take cervical smears (preferred)
• Experience with health screening and healthy lifestyle interventions
