The Pou Tiaki aa‑Iwi role supports the Mokopuna Ora team in Hamilton Central, helping Māori families navigate the care and protection system. This full‑time, permanent position focuses on amplifying family voices and creating safe pathways for children. You will join a growing team dedicated to community wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and support whānau as they engage with child protection services.
• Facilitate communication between families, service providers, and government agencies.
• Identify and promote safe, culturally appropriate pathways for children’s wellbeing.
• Document case progress and contribute to continuous improvement of service delivery.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen support networks.

Required profile

• Strong commitment to Māori values and community development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience or interest in child welfare, family support, or related fields.
