People Advisor – HR Partner

About the role

The Civil Aviation Authority is seeking a People Advisor to join its People Partnering Team in Wellington. In this permanent role you will provide trusted, pragmatic HR advice across a wide range of people matters, supporting leaders in employment relations, performance management and recruitment while ensuring a consistent employee experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely, best‑practice HR advice and support across multiple functions.
• Partner with leaders to help them navigate people matters with confidence.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders throughout the organisation.
• Collaborate with the People and Capability team to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused outcomes.

Required profile

• Proactive, people‑focused HR professional with a balanced advisory approach.
• Strong judgement and a customer‑centric mindset.
• Experience providing trusted HR advice to leaders across diverse issues.
• Good understanding of New Zealand employment law.
• Sound knowledge of HR best practice across the full HR spectrum.
• Experience coaching and supporting leaders to deliver valuable solutions.
• Ability to prioritise, manage competing demands and adapt to change.

Required skills

What we offer

• Salary band of $83,600 to $102,302 per year (NZD), based on experience and internal equity.
