Payroll Coordinator – Fixed‑Term Role in Auckland

About the role

Join IAG as a Payroll Coordinator and ensure our employees receive accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services. This fixed‑term, full‑time position is based in Auckland and supports the company’s purpose of making the world a safer place.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, on‑time payroll processing for all employees each cycle.
• Manage end‑to‑end payroll activities, including employee changes, calculations, and compliance with New Zealand legislation.
• Provide expert support on complex payroll queries and escalations.
• Handle ACC and leave‑related cases with clear communication and coordination.
• Maintain secure, confidential payroll data and uphold governance standards.
• Identify process improvements and support team capability uplift.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years experience in payroll processing, preferably in a large organisation.
• Exposure to SAP or a similar payroll system.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance.
• High attention to detail and ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
• Confident communicator able to resolve queries and support stakeholders.
• Independent workload management in a fast‑paced environment.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset.

Required skills

• SAP (or comparable payroll system)
• Payroll/HRIS systems
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate)
