Payroll Advisor

About the role
As a Payroll Advisor at 2degrees, you will ensure that employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting the continuous improvement of payroll processes. You will work closely with the People team and other stakeholders to deliver a seamless employee experience.
Key responsibilities
- Execute end‑to‑end payroll runs with precision and meet all deadlines.
- Handle complex payroll queries and provide expert advice to stakeholders.
- Apply NZ payroll legislation to guarantee compliance and ethical decision‑making.
- Maintain payroll data, generate reports, and support audit activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the payroll function.
- Participate in broader People team projects and initiatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience in an end‑to‑end payroll advisory role, managing complex payroll processes.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and the ability to apply sound judgement.
- Proactive attitude with ownership of tasks and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, delivering empathy and clarity to employees and stakeholders.
Required skills
- Experience using payroll systems such as iChris or Chris21.
